Smart Film enables glass to be switched from frosted to clear offering privacy on demand. A simple ON – OFF PDLC film mode switches the film from being transparent to opaque. When the film is off, it is opaque but allows light to pass through. And turn on the smart film for it to become transparent.
PDLC Film Structure and Principle
The core part of the PDLC self-adhesive smart film is a coating composed by liquid crystal molecules,On both sides of the PDLC layer is ITO conducting film which has conductive function,The outer side of the two ITO films are anti-scratch film and self-adhesive layer,the special adhesive film laminated on one side,so easily applied to an existing glass.finally the layer of protective film is covered on both side.
Two layers of ITO conductive film are filled with liquid crystal and polymer materials,So when the power off, the LC molecules are arranged in an irregular manner.meanwhile light is dispersed,So the film appears in an opaque state at this time,Now privacy protection is realized.
On the contrary, when power on,The current conducted by ITO films drive the LC molecules are arranged in an regular manner. meanwhile light can pass through freely, So the film appears transparent state at this time. Increase the sense of space in the room, while making the window looks more magical!

Types of PDLC Film
Adhesive PDLC Film
Adhesive film is with glue and hard coating, can directly stick to already installed glass without damage the existing structure, to turn glass from transparent to frosted. In addition, adhesive smart film can be used for insulated smart glass processing.
Non Adhesive PDLC Film
Non-adhesive PDLC film is for glass lamination, should be sandwiched with EVA interlayer film between two glasses, processed in autoclave or furnace to make to laminated smart glass.
Smart Glass
Smart glass is a new type of glass with a sandwich structure that combines PDLC film between two layers of glass and is integrally formed after high temperature and high pressure bonding. Through the controller, it can instantly switch between opaque and transparent.
Blinds Smart Film
Blinds smart film is made by laser machine to cut shutters on smart film, flexibly control all shutters or single shutter from up to down and in reverse.
